Wow how has this not been song of the day yet? I love this song holy crap I love this song. I couldn't find it on Youtube outside of a bunch of osu videos (how come osu has charts for all the good songs while ITG starves? oh right its like three orders of magnitude more popular right right okay) so here's the whole album. I think it loses something if you haven't heard the whole album before it. You've basically had an hour of hi-speed trance denpa indoctrination, the radio waves are in deep now, and then BOOM, the fastestest, cutestest, denpaest, most triumphant salvo yet, the equivalent of, after the battle is won, firing off all your nukes just cuz. What's great is that once you've heard the whole album a few times and had this experience, just listening to this one song alone will dump the whole hour's worth into your memory, retroactively staining your memories of the previous sixty minutes with denpa, just to account for how the song makes you feel now.
This song has it ALL, it has it all TWO OR THREE TIMES OVER, it has MORE THAN EVERYTHING, it has TOO MUCH, it has WAY TOO MUCH, which, in the world of denpa, is JUST RIGHT. The drums right off the bat! The shouting! The fast mumbled voices! The counterpoint shouting! That relentless panning! The verses are so forward-driven, a relentless spirit of achievement! The choruses are so frantic, feeling like an explosion reacting to an explosion by exploding! Everything feeds into everything, and everything feels like an escalation of what's before it. This has the same sort of "perpetual knife's edge" as "Wolf Like Me", except here it's some sort of rainbow space magic laser sword. Then there's that awesome breakdown at 2:40ish, it's crazy cause like, the synths are going wild! It's actually like the opposite of a breakdown! Every part of this song is fast! When one part feels slow, three other parts have actually sped up!
It's a remix of an OP for this anime which looks pretty sick might watch it. MOSAIC.WAV did the OP, and they're doing the OP for Gakkou Gurashi!, which is hands down my anime of the season. The vocalist of that group is MEGA CUTE but R. Cena sounds EVEN CUTER. It's funny cause they don't use a lot of the vocal effects from the original that made them sound "alien" or whatever and the end result is actually more inhuman. HOW DO VOICES SOUND LIKE THIS, what a mystery.
